How do you show people you love them?

Ruth, a character in the Bible, had selfless love for others, such as her mother-in-law.

You can read the full story in the Bible in Ruth chapters 1–4. Click here to read Ruth chapters 1–4 online.

Activate: Love Heart

An activity to get you more involved with this adventure.

When we talk about love we often think of heart shapes.

Why not write the word ‘Love’ in bubble writing with space inside each letter to write. Then, write:

  • The names of people you love in the ‘L’ shape;
  • Words describing God’s love for you in the ‘O’ shape;
  • Words of things you love that God has created in the ‘V’ shape;
  • The bit you remember best from the story of Ruth in the ‘E’ shape.

Why don’t you send us your ‘Love’ bubble once it’s finished? We’ll display some of them here.

Email them to or post them to Girls’ Brigade, Cliff College, Calver, Hope Valley, Derbyshire, S32 3XG
